Celebrating 100 Years of Wits & African Astronomy with VR Capture

VR Capture is honoured to be part of Wits University’s centenary celebrations and the launch of the Anglo American 8K Digital Dome. To mark this milestone, we created two immersive fulldome films that highlight Wits’ contributions to astronomy and education in Africa.

Using 360° video, animations, drone footage, and 3D modeling, we bring concepts like black holes, CERN, and the Naledi skull to life. Paired with original compositions and 5.1 surround sound, these films offer an unforgettable journey through time, space, and discovery.

This project also showcases the transformative partnership between Wits and Anglo American, turning the historic Planetarium into a cutting-edge digital dome that will revolutionize education and research.
